New Family Home, Bosham Hoe Estate

New Family Home, Bosham Hoe Estate

Project Description:

A traditional design approach combined with an emphasis on sustainability and energy efficient technologies was adopted for this new 7,600 square foot house on this prestigious estate, within the Chichester Harbour Conservation Area.

Set within extensive mature gardens, with subtle yet rewarding views of the harbour, this house draws upon the architectural language of the Arts & Crafts movement, with a nod to its deep sprocketed eaves, stone detailing and bespoke joinery. The roof is bold yet simple with a series of pitched clay tile sections with some cat-sliding down to the lower levels, and a central gabled entrance tower with square bay along the West elevation, being flanked either side by extended bay roofs forming alcoves supported on decorative oak brackets,

Careful consideration for the site and its context, along with the use of a sensitive palette of high quality natural materials, ensures this new family home will have a mellow and harmonious relationship with the landscape in a prominent position on this exclusive private residential estate.
