This former Railway Station is a wonderful Grade II* Listed timber framed building dating from 1892 and reminiscent of a grand Russian ‘dacha’; built by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Company, principally to serve Petworth House and the surrounding gentry farming community.
In 1989 the station was converted into an award-winning hotel with the station buildings providing the reception and dining rooms, while guest accommodation was within the static Pullman carriages.
More recently we were delighted to have been commissioned by a private client to further extend and remodel this magnificent heritage asset, along with the provision of a further Pullman carriage.
